Q: None of the above solutions apply to me, I would like to completely remove Metamail however I am unable to do so using the "Add Remove Programs" feature.

A: Resolution

  1. Make sure that all email clients and browsers have been shut down before proceeding. Go to the Start Menu and select Control Panel. Click on the Add/Remove Programs tool. Select the Toshiba Registration and Metamail Trust Architecture program:
  2. Uninstall the Metamail software.
  3. The error message should no longer appear when launching Microsoft Outlook.

A:  Resolution

  1. Launch Outlook and go to the Tools menu and select Options...
  2. In the Options dialog, select the Other tab.
  3. Click on the Advanced Options... button
  4. Click on the Add-In Manager... button located at the bottom of this dialog You should see that UTC is listed as one of the add-ins and that there is a check beside it.
  5. Uncheck the UTC option and hit OK.
  6. Hit OK in the previous dialogs and shutdown Outlook.
  7. Click Start, click Run, and type "regedit" (without the quotation marks).
  8. Click OK.

    WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.
  9. Navigate to the following folder (registry key): HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Exchange\Client\Extensions
  10. Select the icon called "UTC"

  11. With the UTC icon selected press DELETE.
  12. Close the Registry Editor.
  13. Open Outlook and the error message should no longer appear.

  2. Click Start, click Run, and type "regedit" (without the quotation marks).
  3. Click OK.

  5. Select the icon called "UTC"

  7. Navigate to the following folder (registry key):

  8. Select the icon called "Mannacom Technologies"
  9. With the "Mannacom Technologies" icon selected press DELETE.

  10. Navigate to the following folder (registry key):
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Metamail Incorporated
  11. Select the icon called "Metamail Incorporated"
  12. With the "Metamail Incorporated" icon selected press DELETE.

  13. Navigate to the following folder (registry key):
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Metamail Info
  14. Select the icon called "Metamail Incorporated"
  15. With the "Metamail Incorporated" icon selected press DELETE.

  16. Navigate to the following folder (registry key):
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
  17. Select the icon called "{BE3F89C0-42D5-11D5-A40A-00105AC8331A} "
  18. With the "{BE3F89C0-42D5-11D5-A40A-00105AC8331A}" icon selected press DELETE.
  19. Close the Registry Editor.
